Battery warning light, no heater fan?

    Hello group, had been out in the car for about an hour yesterday. When I was just about to pull onto the drive the battery warning light cme on and I noticedthe heater fan had cut out, anyone any ideas as to what it can be?

    Could be ur altenator man.. Get it checkd for free at any garage

    Thanks, but why would the fan not work, everything else electrical seems fine?

    Its because the power steering,heaters and back window heater is worked directly off the altenator.. I had same problem up untill yesterday..

    Its the only thing it can be,either that or the connections on ur altenator,also check the battery clamps see are they secure because if there not the alenator wont charge the battery..

    Thanks for the advice guys, no need to carry out a volt check as the alternator belt was missing, purchased a new one for £4, will fit tomorrow when my fingers have defrosted.

    Belt was a doddle to fit and has been OK since, thanks for all the advice.
