Every now and them my vts wont start (battery flat) so i have to jump start it and it starts straight away, the car has a problem with the ecu so it turns over alot and flatten it in this weather. I have got a bigger battery but it wont fit in the engine bay so i have bought a 170amp cable to run from my existing battery to the bigger one in the boot so in theory il have 2 batterys but WILL I NEED TO EARTH THIS BATTERY ASWELL or will the earth on the battery in the engine bay be ok????? I do have an isolation switch before somebody say il need one.

Why you going to so much effort buddy - are you thinking of fitting some electric motors on the back wheels?

Just get a Bosch Silver Battery HSB012 which would a) fit and b) be more than enough to start a saxo.

Failing doing that you would need to earth it, and need a very well insulated cable or it will melt and burn your car.

Your full cars chasis is earth mate so put a cable from the negative terminal onto one of the back seats bolts = earth

And this cold weather is making it really bad for cars to start.. Summer will probably be no bother on your current battery but struggle in the winter cause its freeeeeeezing.. Also its not the amp for start its cold crank amps you want to look out for

You only need one decent battery with a decent cold start crank and you will be fine i use to have this same problem so got a decent battery and my car has never died once since
