Wipers not working...

  1. #1
After a week of no use or starting - went out today and cleared the car of ice.

Started - 1st time - premature celebration though.

Went to wipe both screens - nothing....no movement at all...

Checked where I can in limited time - no loose wires - everything else (lights, fan, stereo) still works..

    Any ideas?

Is it possible for both motors to have gone or could it be a case of cold for them?

Need it working ASAP as school runs and work beckon...

I've had a look at the fuse guide on the FAQ's - the wiper one is linked to the interior light which still works.

Dont know if it changes anything but the washer pump is not working either.

No damage to the stalk and everything was working fine when last used...

Thanks matey, I misread that guide - turns out it was a fuse!!

I got carried away thinking that I had a 'map reading light'!!

It doesnt even have power steering or ABS!!

Horn doesnt work now till I get a replacement fuse but at least now I can see where im going!!

    Thanks again..

Thats what I thought when I read the post,If anyone does get this problem be careful as you can burn the wiper motor out.

I was thinking motors - de-iced and freed the wipers first before turning them on - thankfully, ebay is full of cheap bits!

Still, prefer a 5p fuse though!!
