Minor hesitation

When I put my foot down from about 1/2 way to full throttle, there is a single misfire, its not missing it just cuts out for a fraction of a second, then continues nicely. 1.4i Saxo

It doesnt do it all the time, just when its coldish I think. Apart from that it runs great. Ive tried putting a spare coil pack on but it makes no difference

check spark plugs just incase and if one is loose sometimes can loose compression when engine is cold

It did it again earlier today on partial throttle at low revs. Battery is fine its quite new. Its not a spark plug because it cuts out completely not just on one cylinder.

Throttle position sensor sounds interesting. First I will wd40 all the connectors to the throttle body, and waggle some wires while its running, see if that does owt

Do you mean when the Engine is cold or the weather?
  6. #6
I wondered that myself, its the weather

Battery could still of been affected in these harsh conditions, check spark plugs also

Oh right I thought you meant when your Engine was cold lol I was like well if you're booting it when you have a cold Engine, what do you expect... Lol

And yes, it could be the weather, Every Engine is different, the moisture in the air makes some cars run better and some a little sluggish. Mine started bogging and juddering a few days ago, so I WD40'd the connectors, You know Crank Sensor, Map Sensor, Etc... And it's fine now...

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it gets worse mate

I had hesitation when revving from idle. I cleaned the TDC sensor and it cured it. (it was covered in bits of mullered clutch release bearing though lol).
