saxo 1.1 banging noise

   Hi, Just acquired a 98 r reg 1.1 x saxo 62k on clock and recent MOT.
   I post on here because when i change gear the clutch seems to be quite high, when you lift off quickly there is a loud banging noise and when you put your foot down quickly and let off from say doing 30mph in 3rd again this loud bang sound. Seems to be coming from passeger side, so what is it any ideas?
   
   I seem to think its an engine mount or clutch plate?

   Sounds like it could be the clutch release bearing?

   But wouldn't that make a noise/bang everytime changing gear not just when releasing clutch up quickly or throttle on and off quick.

   when you let of quicly the clutch will release together faster so it will make a louder noise, i think it may be the plate or bearing.

   How easy a job is it on a 1.1 to strip clutch down and have a look? Also should i change the clutch while im taking it apart or not worth it? Just the clutch pedal is weird at the moment it has a biting point but sometimes when you set off from lights its like its slipping or something because you can here the car revving but it doesnt go much. And sometimes when changing gear normally gas off clucth in select gear clutch up gas its like your riding the clutch, as you can here the car rev a little then its ok?

   mine does the same if i take my foot of the clutch it bangs if i do it slowly then no noise at all.

   thats your clutch. get it replaced asap

   First part solved it ended up been my gearbox mount. No banging no more. Old one was on car for 12 years nearly 13 so was very soft.
   
   I now have to replace clutch anyway as it has gone revving at 30 mph in fifth but not going anyway nightmare. Any guides i can read thorugh or is it jsut a simple case of the haynes? Also someone mentioned something about needing a special tool or is this jsut b******s.
