backbox

Hi all. My Powerflow backbox was recently swapped back to the original one for the purposes of the MOT.
Im wondering if the Powerflow one is safe to put back on as it was noisy before. It failed emissions and was found to be the Cat. Do aftermarket backboxes slowly damage the Cat over time?

No, they should'nt do. I dont even take mine off for the MOT?

I've got a Janspeed half system (cat-back) and i've never had to take that off for an MOT. Had it for 3 years and it been fine.

Maybe your cat was just knacked anyway mate.

backboxes Hardly alter your emmissions, its the cat that takes the first blow of exhaust gases anyways and thats the main part of your exhaust system that you want to look after if you want to pass emissions tests.
