How to remove rear anti roll bar?

I am trying to strip down and rebuild the rear axle on my '02 Saxo VTS. I have read most of the guides but am having trouble removing the rear anti roll bar.

I have removed the end cap bolts either end and also the rubber/plastic plug from one end so far. The guides seem to show their being a plug on both end plates but mine only has the one.

The end plates can be rotated about 45 degrees (but turning one also turns the other) but I can't get them off. Do I just need to get one off to then push the anti roll bar out or can I hammer a drift through the hole where the plug was to drive the roll bar out the other side?

screw a big bolt into the hole where the plug was and tighten it, that pushes the 2 halves of the arb apart

    Thanks very much.

I have now got a bolt which fits and have screwed it in however, it just goes tight and the anti roll bar is not pushing out.

How hard to you have to tighten the bolt as I am worried about stripping the threads? I assumed it would push out relatively easy.
