Airbag light!

    After swapping my interior, from the standard mk1 1.1i interior to mk2 Vtr interior the airbag light comes on, flashes, then stays on while driving..

    (I was told the airbag light is because of the orange wire under the seats sometimes)
    Obviously to remove the old seats I had to remove the orange clips underneath the seats, but they're not the same clip to fit to the new seats.

    To work round this I tried cutting off both clips and just wiring the wires together but that still doesn't seem to work, airbag light still comes on,

    What can I do!?

    Take the airbag light out your dash mate, or put some tape over it....

    how would i take it out? would it just leave a hole seeing everything behind it or?

    Take the dash apart and stick a bit of blue tack over the bulb

    Plz un wrap the wires you've wrapped together, i understand why you've done it but thats not how it works, the plugs use a resistor which regulates the current, by wrapping the wires together you're altering the resistance and will cause the light to stay on and it could also short out an catch fire.

    Easiest thing to do is to remove the clocks and simply remove the bulb, once it's out and you've re-fitted the clocks you cant tell it's ever been removed.

    Just put Black tape over the light no need to remove dash or anything like that.
