VTS Passenger Airbag

  1. #1
As we all know with the VTS's they dont come with a glove box like the VTR'S - Instead they feel the need to give you extra airbags!
I want a glove box to hide all my crap in! lol

Can anyone please tell me is it easy to take the passenger airbag out and convert it into a glove box ?

And would it fail an mot if i did take the passenger airbag out?

I thought on some vts`s that they re-located the glove box to the top of the dash board & that the airbag is where the conventional glovebox is.

I dont have no extra bit for a glove box
only got a big bit saying airbag with the key hole bit above the cd player hole to turn it off and on.
Mine is a MK2 02plate if that helps?
The airbag bit is the size of what the glove box would be if i was to remove it.

But just want to know if its easy to do so to convert it, or should i just leave it and Continue to speeze stuff in the door's - which i dont really want to do as it makes the car look untidy. Plus its good to have the glove box to hide things in as above with the 1st post i put lol

If no one can help ill post a picture up of it when i get home from work so everyone can see what i mean about the air bag. Might be abit easier instead of my trying to explain it.

A standard glove box will fit in the hole left by the airbag, or buy a Mk1 VTS dash which has a small glovebox with the indent is abover the airbag on the passengers side

I have one (Mk1 VTS dash) for sale that needs some TLC if your interested

Ok thats handy to know as i removed my standard seats with airbags in and changed them for bucket seats. So now the airbag light is always on the dash anyways
