#31.5D IMO would see the best gains

Alternatively if money is no object as you have stated then just buy a faster car to start off with?

#5Yep if money isnt a problem and you like the saxo as a car then Give the car a whole new faster engine. 2.0L Lump! you could attempt to stick in

Money aint a problem but i want a project i dont jsut want a fast car i have a fast car atm. This is a project for me some thing to have a bit of fun with have a play around i dont care if it blows up in a week its some thing for me to do play and break lol Its not some thing i want to build to sell on i want to build it and i want to break it. I want a saxo or simler i want big big power but unsure wat to do jsut a engine swap aint a project for me thats a normal work day i want a turbo/ supercharger project or simler. I dont want to do some thing that jsut any old joey can do if you get me? -
#7Straight line yes, corners noQuote:Yep if money isnt a problem and you like the saxo as a car then Give the car a whole new faster engine. 2.0L Lump! you could attempt to stick in

I assume your suggesting a gti-6 lump which is abit heavy for the front of a saxo.
Hell if you want a different engine with money no object go with a z cars conversion! VTEC up the rear y0!

#8if u want something tht will take u abit longer.....try building a RWD saxo or similar hatch

#94wd turbo vts. theres a challenge if even possible

#11I want some thing that i will be able to have ready for next year to have alot of fun in! I have to work ever day of the week and probs only have 1/2 hrs a day i could have a much around with it. Hense turbo prodject aint that big project but can be done in short time. im jsut unsure with engine would be the best one to do it to vtr or vts i dont care about putin difrent engine in as thats easy job really.

#13I'm no expert but surely the VTS would be better to turbo with the 8 extra valves and higher standard output.Quote:I want some thing that i will be able to have ready for next year to have alot of fun in! #14It has been done be4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsfYjc2-kFwQuote:anything is possible with the right amount of cash time and stupidity

#15Again thats wat some would say as it has more power to start with maby the better option some may say the 8v is better to tune for the turbo thats y i am jsut unsure wanted to talk to some people that have done this be for.

#16There are some 106's with 400hp. I recon a vts with a supercharger and a custom inlet (enclosed throttle bodies) would be your best bet!

#18already a cossie powered 4x4 106 and anything is possible btw. If this isnt a load of bullshit and money really is no object, id speak to atspeedracing and/or gmc.

#19I'm with LWS on this one! Maybe add a turbo in the mix aswell
Crazy shit, most probably way too much power for such a light car haha.
-
#204wd system on the AX was crap wouldnt be worth doing
also you say you already have a 'fast car' what you got?
and how old are you? -
#21Corvette-engined Saxo - to rival the Volvette and the Civette!
-
#22If moneys no object then big power 4wd turbo beast!
-
#23vtr or vts doesnt really matter, if money is no problem, all internals will be swapped anyway. vts starts with more power and tend to run more power due to it gets more air and fuel. it has 8 more valves to start with. but there are plenty big power rs aswell so its personal preferance m8
-
#24you need to get a Lady Charger
-
#25Errm I went a bought a car already boosted, there not always all that.
vts turbo and if money is no object then aim 600bhp with lots of breakages, then go destroying these so called faster car's -
#26ill be the first to say this then ..... this thread is bullshit, this money no object bollocks always pop up from time to time and never go anywhere2 users thanked this post: ,

#28i have a c2 gt 1.6 16v turbo running just shy of 180bhp on standard internals and thats fun but im currently turboing a saxo vtr and that seems alot more simple and easyer loads more room and ment to be a much stronger engine more power last longer

#294WD Turbo AX has been done on the continent with good effect - why do you think its crap?
I think the "money no object" phrase is so we don't let money sway opinion 8v may be a better cost option etc etc...
so answer the question within his parameters:
VTR or VTS to turbo
To build himself (not ATS etc - he's already explained why)
his age doesn't matter
I'd prefer VTS to turbo, manufacturers use more valves for good reasons. Better flowing, revvier and higher peak power, wider rev band etc. -
#30From cit sport site (via SSC):
"The AX cars were looking wild and dangerous. They had a lot of power. One of the cars, the AX 1400 Turbo 4x4 had a 1470cc engine (enlarged standard 1360cc block) which was able to deliver over around 300hp which is a lot. For the 1992 season tuner Denis Mathiot had created a 1905cc 16V Turbo engine for this car to replace the 1470cc.
This new engine could deliver around 470hp. When considering the car's weight of only 960kg, the performance was phenomenal. During the race at Faux-Bergerac (July 1991) Chateaux crashed his AX 1700. It was damaged so badly that the driver retired for the rest of the season and sold the car to Christophe Vaison. Vaison managed to get the car fixed again by the end of the season and used the AX 1700. However during free-practice the AX encountered severe technical problems due to not being fully recovered from the crash. "
