problem with a clio

   My mate from work has a problem with her clio, i thought i'd ask here as i know a few people have had clios before.
   she has the EML light on and im guessing the cars in limp mode ( she said it wont let her rev over 2 and a half and car wont go no faster than 30 mph)
   what would cause the car to do this?

   get it plugged in will tell her exactly wots up wiv it.
   possible coilpack, ecu etc .
   get it plugged in saves a lot of hassle

   yeh ive told her to do it becuase her boyfriends dads a mechanic but he still hasnt got round to doing it, told her to go to another person but i think he may go a bit funny with her haha thanks mate, could crank sensors do this aswell?

   I have a few friends that have 99-2000 clios and a I remember one goin like this but its was to do with a radiator hose that connects to the engine !
