Timing the engine

With the cambelt on, which way do i turn the crank to make sure i've timed it correctly?

the fly wheel has been locked at TDC and the camshaft locked, i'm guessing if my timing is out, i won't be able to turn the engine fully for valves hitting, meaning i have the cam 360 dregrees out? (tappets will be adjusted correctly before turning the engine)

    Cheers, Luke

if the flywheel and cam have been locked whilst belt was fitted timing can't be out, however to double check turn the engine over twice with the crank pulley in a clockwise direction

as above you need to turn them over twice as the crank turns twice to every one rotation of the cam. so infact u could have the timing 180 degrees out
