squeaking, banging , pulling to the left

my westcoast has started making some weird noises.. ill try and explain the best i can... when im driving along at low speeds i can hear like a rubber squeking, and its coming from the passenger side wheel area.. Also when im going round a bend/corner its making a banging sound (d,d,d,d,d,) sounds like that if you get me lol. and when i put my put down the steering wheel pulls quite strong to the left..

sorry for the rubbish explanation but i cant think of another way to describe it.. any thought on what this could be..

    cheers

Passenger side outer CV joint - probably beyond repair now - just replace the driveshaft - at least the N/S is the easy side

could be a dislocated or broken spring maybe

cheers for the replys, i check the spring out later, a mate of mine drove it and said, he thinks the squeakin could be the wheel bearing, and the bangin mite be nakard driveshafts,, how can i check these two things.. Still stuck on why its pullin to the left hard on acceleration tho...

If the wheel bearings gone you can usually feel play on the wheel when you jack it up and with hands at 12.00 and 6.00 oclock try to move the wheel towards and away from the car.Spin the wheel and listen for rough sounds.
For the drive shaft jack the car up and grab the shaft and try to move it up and down at either end and you should see a lot of movement where the rubber boots are.Spin the wheel and watch and you might see the problem

probley this, just take the wheel off and have a look for any damage to it (tears or rips in the rubber joint...)

easy to replace..buy a new 1 from SMF for £80or 2nd hand for about £20- £30 and just loosen everything off and pop it on...no need to drain anything if your quick

ive just finished work so im gonna go out and look for signs of the wheel bearing goin, and check my driveshaft... what could be causing it to pull to the left tho...

pulling to the left could be a number of thing my bet would be fucked ball joint on the wishbone. get a pry bar underneeth the cv joing and tyr and move the ball joint and get a m8 to pull the wheel with his hands top and bottom you should see play or your mate my feel it. as for the weird noise i;d say driveshaft.

A nackered CV joint will make it pull to the side because its not turning freely - infact the squeaking and banging are all the bearings in the joint grinding together - metal on metal

what year is the 106? around the year 2000 the ends of the drive shafts changed, early cars like my mk1 vtr and your westcoast have flat ones and the later cars have tapered ones, and you cant mix and match lol
