The dreaded mayo oil

  1. #1
Not had the car long, all seems to be running well unitil...

Took the oil cap off and noticed the oil was a poor colour. I know this sounds like the headgaskets gone, what kind of price's am i looking at? Also is it a hard job? This is the only sign, temprature gauge is fine etc.

Mileage of car? Main type of driving?
With recent climate, and if the car has just been on alot of short journeys, it could just be mositure insid the engine. Which is nothing to worry about.

Try and oil change, and a long trip.
Check again, see if its clear.

Smell the water, does it smell of petrol?
    This would indicate another sign.

Very common to get mayo with the 8V engines when you do short journeys.
