Never ending

Right then, just got my car back from having my lower arms replaced and n/s driveshaft and still getting a knocking noise from the n/s..

Could it be the drop links as i cant think of anything else?!

Also i get a lot of vibration through the steering wheel when driving above 40 mph and the sound of a flat tyre however there is no flat :s

    Cheers

Drop links or track rod ends i would say mate

I have just bought some drop links so i am hoping they are easy to fit?

yeah mate easy to fit, its just 2 nuts on each one, the only problem you may have is getting the old ones off, the nuts can be a bastard to get off, the stud can spin when you try to undo the nut, you'll need to put an allen key in the end of the spud to stop it spinning, failing that hack saw or angle grinder does the trick

flat tyre noise sounds like wheel bearing

Easiest way get old ones off, jack your car up, loosen off the nuts holding the drop link in...then use a second jack to jack up from the ant roll bar to allow you to just slide out the old drop link

bang your new one in, release the jack holding the anti roll bar up, tighten up and your away

took me 15 minute to fit both sides

jack the wheel up and check for play, wheel bearing may be shagged

Dude replaced drive shafts, lower arm, drop links and track rod ends, all brand new, on a 106 in the summer and we still had a knock, i think its just one of them things you got to live with

My old vtr was the same it would knock on the front, i replaced driveshafts, wishbones, drop links, track rod ends, discs and pads, top mounts the lot but still never cured it and now my furio 16v has started it but im going to live with it im not going through the hassle i had with the vtr.

i had the same problem, but only knocked when i pulled away or done a bit of harsh braking. it was the gearbox mount and the two bolts mext to it. have a look and just check to make sure everything is all tight. it's underneath the battery tray. if you take the tray off you will see the 2 bolts. these were about an inch loose and that was the cause good luck

Try replacing the shocks if all else fails, plus springs because a worn shock sometimes leaks and becomes loose, causing it to knock,

I had this problem, changed this and it was perfect, such a relief as I know how annoying and frustrating it can be.

I realised it was the drop link had snapped apparently!
