Yip so as the title says if im lowering it can i lower the front with 40mm springs onto the standard shocks and do i really need dampers at the back? cheers people sorry if this is becoming one of they annoying questions

The dampeners will fail quicker than they would at standard height, personally i would recommend changing the dampeners from what i have read.

Im sure other people have lowered on standard dampeners and will be able to give a better understanding.

Yes you can lower 40mm and keep the standard dampers - anymore and the advice is to upgrade.

The rear dampers are a piece of p*ss to change - so you can do them at any time depending upon your budget and/or if your old ones aren't up to the job.

In short - if you have the funds then do a proper job with new springs and dampers all round - if you've haven't got the funds then spings only and replace the dampers later when/if you need to - good luck

Im down 40mm all round and no problems so far on standard shocks. And as LVC said; the rear dampers literally take 5 mins to change.
