#2why are you wanting to take a backwards step in engineering on fuel injection?
And no there is no inlet manifold from citroen. You will have to use something like the bogg bros. set up -
#3a carb will dump more fuel in wont it mate?
i want to make my saxo quicker without making extreme changes 2 my engine u now anyfing i can do please? -
#4*sighs*
You wont make alot more power without spending big ££££, and fitting a carb isnt the way to go imo. -
#5i suggest googling stoichiometric ratio
-
#6k mate so your sayin theres no point in tryin 2 fit carbs?
-
#7you would be better of going for itb's/boost, take a scroll on the progress pages and you will realise everybody thats looking for more power does this.
-
#8As above , start with something fast..then make it faster.
So a Vts engine would be a good start, then Cams,Tbs... etc. -
#9whats your budget?
-
#10well i just spend bits on it now an then mate
how do u put pics on ere? -
#11give us an idea of your budget and we'll tell you whats the best way to get more power. just spending the odd bit here and there wont get you very far
-
#12I messed with Webber Twin 40's on my Saxo... Then R1 Carbs.
Nothing like good old Carbs but now I think itb's and Turbo are the way forward
-
#13Just tape the carbs to your engine
I'm sure it will make some difference. I'd recommend double sided though, just to be safe
Sorry for the sacrcastic reply but you sir should not be allowed to modify any car! -
#18Haha yeh I know, When I first asked about Carbs people got annoyed.Quote:The OP lol. I know carbs do work etc but people like this just bug me.
i iz wanna dump bare fuelz into da engin an make its go wellz fast blud
Just talk normally so we can all understand or GTFO tbh.
So I went and worked them out myself. Prooved to myself they worked now I'm back to itb's

#19i knew a ad with a furio, he todl me his dad was a mechanic and turned the injectors up so he waas getting more fuel and it was now as fast as my vts
-
#21long story short
its possible, but not exactly cheap when you have to get a manifold made and figure out how to make it work! -
#22you could make a manifold yourself? not to difficult if you can fabricate or know someone who can? plus carbs are that expensive. theres a youtube video of a 106 with a mk2 vtr engine on carbs and it says it has 165hp.
-
#23You could but you still have to think about ignition. Ideally you want a stand alone programmable 3D mappable ignition system or at the very least get the standardised ECU custom programmed to do the same job for the new setup. Though if your going to this much trouble it would not really be any harder to stick with fuel injection.

and you think its gained 65bhp by simply wanging a set of carbs on?
