Gearbox

im buyin a saxo Vtr which simply needs a new gearbox as first and second gears are non egsistant, (however its spelt) so being pushed for time i was after fitting a reconditioned one, does anybody no any recomendable companies?? i sawe somebody write on here to expect to pay no more than £100-£150, ive tryed all my local scrappies, car breakers and the only company ive found was one in bradford (miles away from were i am in kent) andn they wanted £240 for one without the clutch kit. neddless to say i told them to jog.

does anybody around kent have one i could buy?? im travellying to Brize norton on the 22nd to get the car and back the next day (23rd) so if there was anybody with one en-route that would be superd.

Deks36 is in kent I believe. Got an engine off him for a good price a while back?

Breakers around me are charging £175 inc vat for a vts box...try looking up Abbey Car breakers

will do mate, thank you. is there any difference between the vtr and vts box?? Deks36 told me that i can use any saxo/106 gearbox (s2) aslong as its not the 1.4

Thought that any saxo box would fit any saxo..including the 1.4 boxes? I maybe wrong though!

he said the ratios are different but theres one type of 1.4 box that wont fit. knowing my luck, it will be the one i end up bying. lol thanks tho mate, ill give that company a call tomoz
