C20ne engine from Calibra in Saxo

  1. #1
Has anyone attempted this, putting a 2.0 litre engine in the Saxo.

Any issues with doing this apart from exhaust going to have to be custom, can you use standard gear box? Will have to make my own loom probably for saxo clocks etc.

    Any info appreciated.

    why?

    silly idea, shite engine.

People have put 306 gti6 engine's in. Its by no means a easy conversion though.
Why do you want to put a vauxhall engine into a citroen though?

Everyone on here will tell you to put a vts engine in it, there's quite a few reasons why this is the best choice, you'd really have to want to be different to bother with fitting a 2.0 engine

well do you think that a saxo engine will mate to a vauxhall gearbox?
Do you think that a saxo loom will mate with a vauxhall one?
Driveshafts and hubs be the same?

    etc...

unless you have alot of engineering capabilities/money dont even consider it.

yes, we manufacture CNC machined adapter plates to mate the Vauxhall engine to the SAxo box, as well as precision turned driveshafts of differnt lengths. Custom made wiring looms are available off the shelf at Halfords, plug and play whilst TIG welded and chrome plated engine mounts are to order. Price for full conversion is in the regional of 27,876 pounds cash only, only guaruntee is that it will handle like a pig and be the biggest waste of time and money ever seen.

Thanks for the posts guys some with good info some with p**s takes. Just have the engine lying round so thought wonder if it would fit. Might just sell the engine and fund vts or vtr converion instead but i like to be different hence this post.

Go with S idea mate, its going to be so much easier, cheaper, more reliable, plus you can use standard parts so when something breaks in the future its going to be available, not have to be made or modified.

the sarcy comment etc are made because a very high percentage of noobs come on and make exactly the same threads, 98% of those would never/could never do/afford the work theyre asking about, and a simple search would tell them all the answers thy needed

c20ne is 110bhp or 130bhp isnt it? much easier to use a vts engine
  16. #16
C20NE is the 8v version right?

    If its a 16v 2.0 its a C20XE, they are ROUGHLY 140 BHP standard.

    c20xe 150bhp, 16v Redtop
    c20let 204 bhp 16v turbo
    c20ne 110 bhp 8v
    20xe 156 bhp 16v early engine

From those parts ive highlighted I would advise to going to the extent of servicing whatever engine you have - Spark plugs and oil filter change is at the hight of the capabilities of someone who shows that kind of knowledge you are showing. No offence here mate.

and Jason lol at the loom off the shelf at halfords haha

c20ne is 115brake. farr to heavy in a saxo, when i ad my corsa it handled shite. so a cheaper and easier option is go for the s. then you wont sacrifice the handling.

    OK cheers anyway
