Hi Im new here, I posted in the newbie section and was just looking for some help.

You proberly all get asked this question a million times a day.
But im hoping to buy this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

and put the 1.6 engine into it! Now the question is which engine to go for? So from what ive heard, the vtr 1.6 is a 8v engine? and the 1.6 vts is the 16v version?

Which one would you lot go for?

Also is the car above a 3 plug or single plug?

    Thanks Maxx

will be a 3 plug car, VTR engine is 8V, VTS is 16V, get whichever you like,so long as its a 3 plug engine and comes with loom and unlocked ECU (also need rad, fans, throttle cable and hoses and a few more bits for the S) you'll be fine

VTS is the one to go for

Thanks for the fast replys guys,

whats the difference as in gains:
I mean whats the pros and cons for each engine?

98bhp for the VTR, not 100% sure on S,think its approx 125. Find R is more economical but thats down to gearing i think, S is a different matter, not fast as in Skyline/Evo stakes put plenty of fun in something that weighs as much as wet lettuce leaf

yeah thanks for the that, I think il go with the vts 1.6, with camed, closed induction, supersprint pipe and piper exhaust. Also a map to finish it all off nicely.
How much im i looking for a vts engine with loom and ecu for?

400-ish for a decent 3 plug S engine with loom and unlocked ECU with reasonable miles on it

    VTS is 118bhp.

Mate, that is well overpriced for a Furio with no MOT or tax

You can get non runners on here for much much less than that
I would try and get a non runner VTR as they have rear disk brakes meaning you dont need to convert

My car is a VTR with 11 months MOT, albeit 101k on the clock, still going strong and I would be lucky to get a grand for it!
