#4bear in mind my old vts passed MOT with a worn wishbone
-
#5Engine mount collapsed?
-
#6I have looked around its either an engine mount or the wishbone might just replace the wishbone 1st and see what happens. Thanks for the help guys
-
#7Your puttin it in reverse while still moving forward a bit?
-
#8Instead of replacing the wishbone why not just take it for an MOT? They will soon find anything thats loose.
-
#9na putting in2 reverse then moving, car passed M.O.T in Oct only just started doing it about a wk ago
-
#10I knew you'd say you just had the MOT done. Sometimes one could bet ones house on predictability
-
#11i wouldnt be driving the car with out M.O.T lol just have to wait till the weather picks up and take a peek
-
#12theyve got a ball socket on the gear linkage n there quite common, is ya gear stick wobberly?
-
#13Linkages? very much doubt linkages would cause that, If the gearbox mount had gone then your gearbox would sit in a different position to what it should, meaning it's possible it could create some clunks/bangs, Lower engine mount can also cause this...easiest way to check, jack up the car...put a long metal bar inside the mount resting on the rubber bush...and wobble, if it moves free and is spongey then it needs replacing...your entire engine will be going backwards and forwards every time there is thrust or a gear change

#14Cheers for the help guys when the snow is gone will have a good look should be an easy fix fingers crossed
