Engine VTR Conversion Question ASAP

    Hi all
I recently killed my engine due to not using antifreeze which is my own sorry fault, ive taken the head off and my valves have bent damaging the piston.

so ive decided just to get anothe engine, my car is a 99 vtr
i was wondering if a 02-reg saxo vtr engine would fit ?

if so does anything have to be changed any extra pipes or sensors ?
this engine will come with loom, ecu, key and transponder

will it be a case of plug and play ?

Engine and wiring out, new engine and wiring in job done or is there more to it ?

    thanks

Not really. Can be done but alot of rewiring needed as yours will be a single plug ecu and the 02 will be a 3 plug. Just get a single plug vtr engine and it will drop straight in.

i have noticed 2 different engines, one with a bulky coilpack on the side near the thermostat and another with the flat type ( no leads )

Mine has the flat type so im right in thinking a 1998-2001 silvertop will be the same with 1 plug ecu

    cheers

The black top is a different engine, 90 bhp. The silvertop is 98bhp. As said 1 plug and 3 plug, basically to fit the 02' engine in your car you need the engine, loom, ecu and interior loom.

Wrong. Can get silvertop 90bhp engines too. Silvertop has roller rockers and a knock sensors and blacktop does not.
