right sheet ice i turnt the corner car didnt hit curb

was fuck all i could do so last minute i straightend up to avoid hitting the curb with wheel side ways think this might have saved me abit of damage

only going 10 mph ish but hit this curb and it has knocked my wheel back and it is now only a fell millimetres away from the back of the wheel arch i managed to drive it about another 2-3 miles to my friends where we were goin lucky her dad is a mechanic and he saw it the next day after id left and says its not drivable and there could be 3 things that need replacing but my friend couldnt remember what they could be (women ay) lol

he said would need it at his shop to fix it any ideas guys ?

parts and prices would be great if you could

    thanks for any help

Wishbone, track rod end and link rod. it may have ripped the wishbone out the floor, if so it will need the floor welding up.

    well its true

ive fucked around in my car soo fucking much this week and not once had an accident...because ive done it in my work carpark, which is big enough to spin out and slide 5 meters.

on the road, i drive to the conditions...and yet have no problems.
im getting really pissed off with the "the SNOW made me crash!"
no it didnt... if someone can prove that the weather forces you to crash, then please show me!

think of countries, like russia, or germany, or the north pole, dont see polar bears crashing every day do you. no.

common sense helps me out when im driving in bad weather.

Techically the snow does cause people to crash...
if your driving down the motorway doing 65mph and driving sensible and slip on some oil, the cause of the slip would be the oil, Hense the reason Snow DOES cause accidents and for even people not messing around...It does force you to crash. Mabye its not as bad as it is around your area to mine?

thats not right tho is it so on a nice clear motor way in good weather some one still crashes whats to blame them, normly in a accident there is always some think the drive could of done to prevent the accident

tbh i agree with tonto if you crash in the snow then you should be going slower and paying more attention. if someone crashes into you then you would be saying the same about them, snow = slow unless you have a place and space to play in where knowone else will be affected by it

but you are aware that the snow is there...so why would you be doing 65mph? you wouldnt, well shouldnt. Oil on the other hand, yes will cause a crash, but thats an accident.

you can see the brick wall, yet you drive into it at speed... its the same princable.
you know its icy, slippery, cold, wet, snowy, dangerous... yet fail to drive to suit.

snow causes accidents, fact. i slid out and hit the curb coming into my road tonight theres no damage because i was going about 5mph and not messin around but ive "drifted" round it on numerous occasions in the snow over the years without problem, must have just been a particularly bad patch of ice tonight. (its a big corner coming into a cul-de-sac with lots of visibility and woodland on one side of the road so very safe before i get abused lol)

    dinni use your brakes!
engine brake with light acceleration or clutch control round corners
  18. #18
all 4 wheels slid, the car followed the camber of the road. it is about 5" of thick ice covered in compacted snow though, fucking nightmare.
probably wasnt paying as much attention because i was 6 feet from my parkin spot

ok cheers guys but arguing over with each other about whos fualt it is is pretty pointless as i know really it was my fault but i was driving slow and wasnt pissing around and when you think about it the snow/ice did make me crash as if it wasnt ice i wouldnt have crashed
but your point is valid although either way i dont care lol

    wish bone
    boton arm
    link rod end
    link rod

how much are we talking for these parts
be a piss take if its broke my d/s as i put new ones in on thursday LOL cry haha

drive shaft will be fine, theres plenty of movement in it you'd have to give it a fair whack to kill a shaft

    wishbones are around £40
    droplinks £10
    Track rod end £10
    Tracking £25

Labour (hours work @ £50) = £135 all in at most

If you shop around do the work your self could do it for around £70 including tracking .

Might need a new wheel, if the other is bent also.

    Good luck hope this helps..
