URGET: Car Overheating

  1. #1
Urgently need help to find out whats wrong with my car.

Basically i started my car up in the morning to let it warm up etc while i defrost the car.. I left it for a good 10minutes and the car is on red, the fan is kicking in like mad aswell.

Ive checked my radatior level and thats fine. Ive checked my engine for the sign of 'mayo' and there is no sign of that eithier.

Yesterday when i was driving my car it wouldn't blow out warm heat? Maybe that is a sign off something?

I also belivie the bottom house on the raditior has been bodged up...

If anyone could help me would be appericated... As no car = no work = no money.

Oh and its my birthday, what a birthday present ay?

How would i check the coolant?

And my car was on for atleast 20minutes and it was still overheating.. Is it worth me trying to drive 50miles? Dont want my gasket or anything to go as i can't afford it.

Going to buy some anti-freeze when my dad wakes up.

most common cause is not enough anti freeze in winter. the water in the rad freezes, so the water cannot circulate, so the water in the block ends up boiling its t*ts off.

see so many cars over heating in winter because of this, especially once driving and the wind chill factor comes into it, freezes the water in the rad.

its basic car care and everyone should do it, check your anti freeze content. or if in doubt, put some in. having too much wont do any harm for a short period.

cars in extreme cold climates have neat antifreeze.

How do you bleed it? And is it easy to fill back up?

ur thermostats frozen and u have an air lock, remove ur themostat, inside the housing, the bit that joins the top hose to the mount its in there, build it back up with out it in there, bleed ur system going, rad, then housing (allen key) then the one ontop of the hose behind the ctiming belt cover, it looks like a tyre valve cap, make sure water comes out before moving onto the next and if none does squeese the hoses, then top up the top up. i use a 50/50 mix of antifreese. then it will work lol, all you will need is to buy a new 88 thermostat, only 6 pound, car will be fine without it, it will just take longer to warm up as its useing all the water to cool instead of a percentage.

im 99 persent sure this iss ur problem

p.s the tanks buttons down there VVV
