Drilling/Grooving own brake disks

Seen drilled/grooved ebay for 20-40 pound more than normal ones per set.
Would i notice any differences on the road if grooved a normal set on the cnc at work?

    Don't do it..

Drilled also snap easy! Seen so many pictures and people say used on track and there discs shattered.

no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no!!!

    ....

    if you get my point.

it severely weakens them, and if used aggressively (i.e. as mentioned: on track) they are known to crack, or even shatter.

drilled holes in discs are a bad idea even from a performance perspective.

high performance or race discs are vented, and possibly grooved only - and the grooves are purely for pad deglazing. you need as much surface area as possible, so grooves and holes lessen that.

maxtorq group n disks from rallye design
and mintex 1144 pads are a good combination for fast road use

the holes are there to cool, cant see u needing that on the road

the holes are on there for show. Most modern pads simply do not produce the gases to need them. We sell the plain maxtorq discs as they will last longer, will not accelerate pad wear (grooves do) and are nice and cheap. We have customers in the Stock hatch championship happily using these with CL Brakes RC6 race brake pads so they are certainly up to the job! Mintex discs are very popular too

As above, I've been really happy with mintex discs/pads. For road use theres no point spending a massive amount on brakes (saying that I've done a stupid brake upgrade but shhh!).
