one problem after another

   when i brought my car i know it needed a new gearbox
   so i replaced that and also replaced the clutch
   then i needed drop links so i did that
   then i needed new brake calipers so i did that
   then i needed to sort out my fan because it was bodged to work from a switch in the dash instead of automaticaly kicking in
   so i did that
   i then found out i had a buldge in the tyre so i replaced that
   now i find out my reverse lights dont work
   its realy f#*#n me off
   so anyway i took the connector off the switch and bridged the 2 metal things with the engine running to see if its the switch and nope still nothing
   so what could be wrong?
   im seriously thinking of just getin rid

   Get rid and have another car that needs all the same work doing again a few weeks later....nah bredda.
   
   Fuse? Concidence both bulbs? Test the current along the way, replace the sensor.
   
   Reverse bulbs are not in the MOT tests.

   i was told the reverse lights are on the same fuse as the brake lights and my brake lights work
   im not sure if thats right
   but if you dont need them for mot then ill just leave them broke lol
   so do i put the tester on the part where the bulb goes in?

   Trace the wires and test, id start with testing where the bulb bourd is. Then if thats ok when in reverse it would be the bourd. If it dosent show anything then test from the opposite end where the sensor is and trace it back.
   
   Also check interior earths.

   Its French you should expect this
   
   Fuse 7 passenger fuse box, if that is OK (which it no doubt will be) then its a multimeter on the bulb holder... I'll get a picture..

   lol sound mate
   just to mention
   the other day when i did the fan when i lifted up the fuse box two thick blue wires dropped out and the car wouldnt start so they had to be put back,
   the only place i could see it came from was the top left but dont know wich way around but i put them in and teh car started so i left it
   it wouldnt be cus of that would it?

   Sounds like something was bridged because it was blowing a fuse. Silly thing to do as it will make the part fail or the wires to the part the fuse thats bridged for burn and set fire lol

   i have a small bulb from my fag lighter with 2 wires coming from it that was removed
   beings tho i dont have a multimeter handy i could put those wires where the bulbs go carnt i and if it lights up theres power and if it dont it wont ?
   that should check it shouldnt it lol

   go along the wires and test with that. Multimeter only cost like £5 for a cheap one.

    ohh didnt know that
    so i just get my misses to jump in the car and start the car put it in reverse then start following the wires

    ^ Take out the reverse light
    
    
    
    ^ Put the red pin on the middle contact, the black on the outside contact. When its in reverse, with ignition on, it should be 11-12 volts
    
    As it happens, this bulb I am showing you doesn't work - but it has 11.46v - so it should be working and the problem lies with the bulb or the holder contacts. In my case, its the holder - it's all corroded and nackered so i'd have to sand the contacts to get it working - which i can't be bothered

    i went outside and remembered how cold it is and came back in
    its freezin lol

    I had the same thing man, I had a switch in the glove box, that ran to the the cigarette lighter that ran to another switch and a blub that had wires running in the switch again and into the boot lol.. Fucking nightmare !
