saxsport on an 8 valve

    anyone had any experiences with these are there any disadvantages with this system i got the decat race system

    I say only Can think of it looking like a pea shooter. IMO a good all over exhaust with a nice note

    hmm the size i thinkis just right i was guna get a supersprint but i thought it just looked to rough like sumone just cus a bit of pipe and bodged it bt they do have a hell of a sound

    i guess its down to everyones taste bt the pugsport sounds amazing so i thought id give this a go if i dont like piper or supersprint

    fitted my saxsport sounds mint with the rasp but it doesnt seem to pop as much as the pugsport ? maybe it needs to be worn in and carbon to build up but still a mint exhaust note ....

    jonsey has one, once he put a few miles on it the sound was mint obviously better as he had a manifold on to

    ok mine is a 16v but it came alive when i changed the manifold!

    i am tempted to get one for the vtr tho

    You'll need to be running it on a 4-2-1 manifold mate to get it's full potential, pops and bangs and rasps all day long after a few week, i've got a 4-2-1 manifold on mine with a supersprint system, after 2/3 week it's worn in now and it's a definate head turner .

    ive got a piper 4-1 mani mate it does pop just not loud like the pugsport probally needs some wearing in ! but it sounds so mint

    mates got one on his vtr, but with standard manifold with cat in it so its not overly loud and has quite a deep sound rather than raspy. fitment and quality is great, hes got the oval one and it looks really good

    same system apart from the tailpipe welded on the backbox. what age is your vtr? being a phase 2 it might not even decat your car

    2001 reg and ye it is decatted as its got a piper 4-1 mani.... also the road version has more or a silenced back box ..

    Here mate:



    I fit one on my old VTR which my mate now owns.
    Makes about 110bhp has a Piper 4-1 Manifold and a BMC

    Nowhere near as loud as on a 16v but sounds awesome for an 8v.

    You have a piper! That's a man exhaust keep that! I would only use a saxport for track use

    well your gay i personally prefer the pugsport to the saxsport system, i like the high tinny noise and the amount of back fire i get every time i change gear at high revs with the pug sport system, i found the saxsport to be deeper with hardly any backfire and was a arse to line up properly

    i have saxsport on my 8 valve mk1, felt power loss when fitted as had race tube before. i have mani to. saxsport is just deep not raspy like the race tube. but i knew stainless is deeper than mild steel so what i expect.

    well mines starting to wear in now and its well raspy ....pops and bangs too and ive noticed a slightly better throttle response if im honest ..

    Not to sound to noobish but whats with the saxport and pugsport exhausts?? are these better than after market exhausts also where d you get them? just im after a back box

    i think they're classed as grp N exhausts not aftermarket think thats it could be wrong tho

    they dont sell just the back box mate gotta buy the whole system .

    not better than any other really. Its just the original peugeot sport exhaust was used for Group N. off the top of my head the bore has to stay the same, but then the 50mm pipe works best for up to 190bhp anyway.

    It will not fit to the standard style centre pipe anyway.

    its an excellent exhaust, i like the 2" exit, sounds brilliant, even better with a 4-2-1.

    i have the decat full system on my vts btw.

    i would presume it would sound equally brilliant on a vtr though.
