Air Filter Box

  1. #1
I've just taken off my cheap Ripspeed cone filter (due to the sound being stupidly loud and lack of performance) and put the original box back on, but there are two holes, where the air feed goes and then one below that. Can anyone explain to me why there are two holes? Unfortunately I don't have the standard air feed though, was not supplied when I bought the car. I'm using an air feed from Halfrauds, cheap fix!

I don't mean to sound dumb, but I think the car is taking in too much air. The bottom hole is left open and I thought maybe that's why it's pretty sluggish at low revs in second gear.

I'll just go out to the car. Two moments!

would strongly recommend a raceland enclosed green filter kit mate.
i fitted it filter without the enclosure and drove around with it until i found time to mount the enclosure. Added it a few days ago and what a difference!

didnt find any difference between the standard airbox and open cone filter without the enclosure.

P.s - Please ignore the "temporary, cheap fix" air feed, lol.

I know I've got to buy a decent enclosed filter. Just need to sort the cash out, as soon as I hope.

Thanks for the advice though Ian!

There is some sort of grommet just inside, I've just noticed. But it was just sitting around the inside of the rim.

As stated in initial post, I received no air feed with the car. All they did was take whatever they had on it, off, the just put the box back on. Very kind of them!!

Wow, thank you Ian! That's been a great help. So the bottom hole just has a clanking piece to go in it?

    BLANKING piece, lol.
