when i opened up the bonnet this eve I noticed a red wire with a washer thing on the end attached to nothing. the wire can reach to the positive terminal on the battery and comes from underneath the airbox. I believe its a earth but have no idea where it should be. thank you!
hmmmm what's this wire and where should it go?

#2You sure its red, not brown?
Red is generally a positive feed and brown or yellow/green is negative or earth.
The best bet would be to trace the other end back - although testing resistance to ground (ie your engine block) would confirm if it an earth or not. -
#3it looked more red than brown tbh however i could be wrong
