Car won't Start!

  1. #1
Ok, I have a Saxo MK2 VTR, and i was forced to be santa for the night and deliver prezzies on Christmas Eve.
The car started started fine in the morning then, We called at a house for less than 10 minutes got back in the car and it woudn't start.
First time, it started then stalled, now it just turns over.

Not so long ago, it had a 'service'
...New spark plugs (Super 4 ones)
    ETC ETC

The battery is charged, she has petrol, and we even tried the old spark plugs (As i have heard bad reviews on the super 4 ones)

Anyone had this problem before? or know what it might be.

I know there is probably a lot of threads out the thats are simular, but i have had a read through and cannot get my head around it.

    Any advice appreciated
    thanks
    David

PS: I am no mechanic so hopefully all that made sence

    EDIT:
Also, we have just realised that when you turn the key once (so all the lights come on)
USUALLY i hear like an electric noise coming from the engine bay (for a second or two)
BUT now... i cannot hear a thing?
    what could this be?

Could be a lot of things.
    So it turns over ok?
    It has petrol?
Try pressing the fuel cut off switch, that the red button on the passenger side suspension turret.
Check the fuses to see if any have blown.
Could be due to damp on electrical connections, could use wd40 to drive moisture out.
If none of the above then next check for a spark, take the coil pack off and just 1 plug out, put the plug that you have taken out into the coil pack and earth that plug against the engine. Get someone to turn the car over (only needs to be once) you should see a strong blue spark from the plug. Check all 4 plugs.
    Thats a starting point

Yep I agree, that would account for the partial start and splutter
