Saxo VTS squeaking + other noise

  1. #1
    Happy holidays everyone..

Over this recent cold (in the UK), my Saxo VTS has developed a horrible noise when starting from cold. Once it's warmed up, the noise isnt completely gone, but is less prominent.

Here's a video with the noises.. starting from cold this afternoon. Outside temperature has been about -5degC today. The first squeak I believe to be the fan belt (replaced a few weeks ago), then the second, louder noise seems to come from under the cover.

    Bit of background.

Car done 60k miles, cam belt done at 50K (18 months ago). Recent (within a month) plugs, filters, oil change, fan belt changed too.

Anyone ever had this problem before, or know what it could be?

    Cheers for and advice

Thanks G. The mechanic mentioned there was a problem with one of the fan belt tensioners being stuck.

What sort of condition is the crank pulley in? They have a rubber centre which fails causing the whole pulley to wobble.

Cheers for the advice mate. Had it up on a ramp today and found the problem part.. crank pulley it is. Hopefully can get one before my 250 mile adventure on Thursday!
