Turning Your Fuel Pump Up?

    'Ello friends.

    I have a rather strange question for you

    Can you "Wind A Fuel Pump Up"?

    I've never thought about it before, a few people have said to me they turned their fuel pumps up to pump more fuel, I'm talking ages ago and I just believed them.

    Then a friend of mine, who's a mechanic said he wound his fuel pump up so much black smoke was always present and it often flamed. Now I didn't believe him to be honest, because I thought fuel pumps on Saxo's anyways are just electric pumps... I've never seen anything on mine that looks like you can "Turn It Up" but I've just seen a Video on YouTube and he says he's turned his up too!

    Is this crap or can you actually do that?

    Think they mean on diesels to be honest buddy. Up the turbo, up the mechanical fuel pump, up goes the bhp.

    No chance with a fuel injected car, unless the ecu calls for more fuel, then you would need an uprated pump to keep up with demand.

    Ahh right, I thought so lol. I know you can with old Diesels but these people were on about Petrol Saxo's, They was obvioucly talking crap then lol thanks
