Well... I'm Back With Another Problem! Mental Engine!

  1. #1
Well frienddddssss Remember I had that problem with my car holding its revs when changing gear? Well I fixed that by changing the Temp Sensor.

But!! Today it started to do it again... I thought to myself I've change all the "Could Be" Things like TPS, ICV, Temp Sensor.

So I took it to a long road on the Farm (Privet) And gave it a clean out... Changed gear at around 5K, hit 120 both ways. Thing is... I wish I didn't because now it's worse!!!!

Now if you're above 3,000rpm and you let off it jults then floors it by itself? The Throttle don't open though obviously. And the pedal stays at the top.

But it's fine if you're below 3,000 it comes down like normal. But above that... Boom it shoots off. Today I was driving and it decided to accelerate by it self after I let off for traffic and lights. Thing is it's soo dangerous because the Engine over powers the brakes and if you put the clutch in it pings up to the limiter! after one or two bounces it comes down to idle but I don't really want it doing that lol. I'm going to hit someone soon!

Anyone got any more ideas? Coil Pack I haven't changed but I can't see how that can cause these problems?

    Thanks

I'll be amazed is anyone has had this problem before lol.

Hmm Mine doesn't show any problems.

I know someone that has one of those 6 grand ones, I might ask him to see what that can find.

Only odd thing I found is, when you have in on Live Data it doesn't show the Coolant Temp. It's listed as 0.0. Even when at working temp but my dash gauge works... Not sure if that has anything to do with it... That's a new sensor though

You checked your throttle body aint sticking after a certain point?

Yup, it's a new Body. Polished. I've cleaned it all, it doesn't stick. It does the same thing if you rev it, so I've revved it from the Body and it closes as it should... Revs just go mental lol.

You could have used it to deliver presents on the 25th?

Seems to be free as free can be... It's a new one... The old one was like pressing the brake lol.

It's odd because you let off and it lets off as normal but only for a seconds... It's quite hard to explain... So I let off, it jults as if it'll stall, but then the revs shoot up. Has that made it clearer? Lol
  12. #12
I'm actually wondering if the ECU thinks it's going to stall so it opens the ICV up, but way too much?

Sounds distinctly air-leakish to me. Check all the induction side things. Mani, gasket for the throttle body, look for unattached/damaged vacuum tubes etc. Is the air temp sensor fully installed? Did you do the throttle body before or after the problem started??

    etc

Well when I bought the car I had the Polished body already, the car came with a really oily gunky Standard body, so as soon as I got it home I changed that... It's been fine all this time, until today.

I have messed with the vaccum hoses, but I did that a few weeks ago and it was fine then... I'll check the inlet gaskets tomorrow, that is a good idea lol.
  15. #15
Come to think of it, the big hose coming from the inlet isn't connected.

I out a filter on it because it was sucking in crap. See it? Top left on the inlet. Silver Filter.

Oh and that thin one that sits on the rocker cover... What does that actually do lol If I move it it stalls then runs like crap for a few mins...

Recon that could be my problem?

air leak between throttle body and head. if tbs closed and its still revving its getting air from somewhere

Do you think I can block those Vaccum holes off? I mean they're obviously meant to be conected to the Air box, but I ain't got one lol. So shall I block them?
  18. #18
Its the thin one that's the problem. I should be connected to, I think the T shaped housing on the rocker cover, looks like its broken orf. It is supposed to suck in oil fumes from inside the engine.

Then theres the thick one, doesnt look right like that. Does it go to the air box normally? I dont have a VTR

Ahh, I'll block it off then. Strange it's been like that for ages lol. Same on my other Saxo...
But I'll block it off tomorrow, see what happens

Thanks... If anyone else has idea's let me know please

Best not to block off vacuum hoses...

As I'm sure many of you have noticed one of my Hobbies is making Video's and Video Editing. So I make video's of anything and everything, So I made one of the fixingness of my revving madness!! It's just Rendering as I type!

looking at your vid it still takes it time for revs to drop. Why not do it proper?

It will be sucking in unfiltered air, and you might might not have fixed it anyway. The MOT station will fail it like that

My other Saxo passed with the hoses like that.

And this one passed with them like this. Although the big one didn't have a filter on it then

Edit: I should point out that big one has a filter as you can see, and the thin one doesn't seem to suck any air, it looks like there's a pinhole but if doesn't seem to be sucking so it must be blocked lol.

Thats ok then lol. That must b why is passed if its blocked, it would throw emissions out if it wasn't
