Randomly not starting

   sometimes when i go to start my car it just keeps trying to start with the key light flashing. so i take the key out and try again and 8 times out of 10 it starts but the other 2 times it just does the same...

   this happened in my old saxo. wenever it done it to me i used to get out undo petrol cap and do it up again and it used to start straight away aslong as the key light wasnt flashing... i wudnt no how to fix it though. my mate bought the saxo off me and its still doing it now .. he said its getting worse so he might take it to garage .. if he does ill let you no how to fix it.
