mk1 vtr wiring looms

sorry about all these conversion Q's. im doing it next weekend and i dont want to hit any problems as it has GOT TO BE FINISHED by sunday night as my dad has had an operation on his leg so i got to take him work the following week

the story goes like this. . .

i bought the 99 106 gti engine of a lad who had taken it out of his 98/99 converted vtr. so obviously he would have had to modify the gti wiring loom to adapt to the vtr main loom.

iv got a 97 vtr and am droppin the gti engine in next weekend. everything is prettymuch straight forward apart from the wiring. i just NEED to know if the changes he made to the gti loom worked for him, does that mean the will just plug straight in for me?
if not what might i have to rewire or change?

please help anyone that knows anything!

if his was a mk1, and yours is then yes it will, all mk1vtr looms are the same, even those with abs as its a seperate loom so they just added it.

did you see this engine running or are you taking his word for it? if you didnt see it running then noone can tell you if it will work or not.

to be honest i didnt see it running but he gave me his number and said if i need any help with the conversion to give him a ring he seemed a sound lad. seems like a few people have had some stuff off him!

also there are people on hear that know him and said about him gettin caught with no insurance. so he's breaking the car to get more money for it

will u be on the net next saturday ratty as i'll probably hit loads of snags and you know everything! just wondered if you could be there for me mate?
