Hesitating, coolant temp lighht

   Evening all,
   
   
   Having a problem with the VTR at the moment, when its started and its cold it will hesitate like mad when i try to accelerate and the coolant light is on pretty much constantly.
   Iv taken the coolant temp sensor off today and gave it a going over with emery cloth but the light is still on
   
   Anyone got any idea what it might be I'v only just replaced the sensor a couple of months ago

   I seems to have something simillar with my saxo...

   iv unplugged the blue coolant temp sensor (under the thermostat) and so far the red light of doom and despair hasnt come back on and the cooling fan will run without turning the car off.
