VTR exhaust on VTS

  1. #1
    Hey guys.

So I'm going back to standard exhaust on my VTS as I'm doing alot of motorway miles at the moment.

Iv noticed when looking at the parts catalogue that the VTR and VTS have different OEM exhausts on both the centre section and the back box and also that the VTS exhausts costs twice as much as the VTR exhaust.

Does anybody know if there really is that much different, I know they all fit the same but is it going to cause any issues with emissions at MOT. Iv got the original VTS CAT to go on would just be a VTR centre and box.

Oh and does anyone know what a raceland 421 manifold on a standard exhaust is going to sound like?

    Cheers Matty.

vtr exhaust is a smaller bore however it will fit a vts and if its decatted itll rasp like fuck with the small vtr back box

Ah right thanks for that. So would I be able to fit a VTS cat to standard VTR centre section? Also are there any issues with using a smaller bore exhaust on the VTS?

That part number is for a 1.4/VTR centre section but thanks anyway.

It'll fit, its a generic part for loads of saxo/106's.

Makes no odds. As long as it's ok for the year of car - single plug cars have a shorter CAT and longer centre pipe, whereas three plug cars have a longer CAT (to account for the post CAT lambda sensor) and shorter centre pipe.

VTS backbox is a lot bigger than the VTR/ 1.4 jobbie, presumably to keep noise down as the valver lumps are a tad louder. The VTR/ 1.4 backbox will fit though, might be a bit louder than normal though.
