VTR Power Range/Rev Range?

  1. #1
    Hai friends,

Now, before you all read this and go "Bloody hell, another one one asking us questions we can't answer without looking!"

I'm not asking to find out I'm asking what your VTR's are like!

Right, I bought my VTR a while ago I've never driven any other VTR's before.

So I thought mine was pretty quick... No worries there... But I have a few mates with VTR's one has a '97 MK1 and one has a MK2'01. I'm not sure what the others are, but anyways.... They seem to have a smooth rev range like if they floor it, the power is even through out from 1,000 to 6,000...

But mine is like, nothing until 2,500? I mean if I'm in 2nd and I floor it it picks up okay but as soon as it hits 2,500 all the power comes in, sometimes it spins the wheels. Because I'd never driven any other VTR's I thought that was how they are, I've never taken much notice, I haven't looked to see if it's Cammed, might well be... I know the only way to find out is to look. I'm not stupid lol.

What I'm asking is, what are yours like? Where is your power? Standard and Cammed VTR people would help

But that's also what I'm asking, what is the power range like for Standard ones?

Hmm, I don't think many people have VTR's?

Someone posted a stock RR, cant remember who
    peak torque @ 3.2k*
    peak power @ 5.8k*

    * = rough figures from my hazzy memory

you sure theres nothing wrong with your vtr? in need of a service?

    Hmm.. Could be...

I'm not saying my car's perfect, but I gave it an oil and Filter change, Did Tappets Etc... Fuel Filter about 3 weeks ago. Cam Belt will be changed soon. But that won't effect the power like that lol... I don't think

my saxo does this.. my old vtr mk1 never done it though... its weird... you floor it and it feels asif its a vtec just not as quick lol because they kick in mid way through the revs... i dont have a clue what it is ... it runs fine ... maybe just needs a service like matey said.

1,000 most days. 1,300ish some times lol.

I doesn't surprise me, I've messed with the thing so much lol.

Thing is, I like to experiment... Find what happens if I do that, or that... You know? Lol.
