Saxo VTR/Furio

Hi All, I'm new here. I know this will sound stupid, but can you decrease the displacement of an engine? It is because i want to get into rallying and in the BTRDA, there is class B8, which is 8 valve 1400 cc engines. can i decrease the displacement of a VTR engine which I think are 8 valve engines, by changing parts over from a Furio engine? Has this ever been done before (unlikely too) lol. Anyway, Thanks Guys and Girls

    Yes it can,

What do you mean? If you can do it, what parts do you need to change it? Is it very expensive or can you take parts off a Furio engine? How long would it take to do? Can I do it myself, or is it a hard job?

    Thanks John

    Go for a S1 106 rallye engine - 100bhp from a 1.3.

engine transplant would be alot easier imo, then sell your vtr engine on

Thanks, What is the tuning like for a S1 Rallye engine? What BHP can they go up to, Is it expensive to tune?

    Thanks, John

all depends on the money you want to pump into it but id say go for a s1 rallye engine over a furio anyday

Could you get it up to about 140+ bhp? How much would it cost? What would you need to get it up to that power?

    Thanks, John

A 1360cc 106 xsi motor would be the best choice.

PM Garry.M on the 106RR if your serious about it.

I thought a 106 1.3 Rallye had 16V not 8V. What BHP would a 106 Rallye have, with Cams, Air Filter and Induction Kit, Throttlebodies, Inlet, Exhaust, Remap, or standalone Management, work on the head. is there any good Recomendations on any of these? Is there anything else. I've seen people using Motorbike Parts, like GSXR TB's and Inlet, What about these

    Thanks, John

Only the 106GTi/Saxo VTS are 16v.

Depends on spec really, only 1 cam on the 106 Rallye mind... you should see around 115 - 120 with headwork, decent cam, bodies etc mapped to suit.

Okay, Thanks. What would the price be to do all of the things that you mentioned?
  13. #13
Dunno, you'd need to look into it.

    Not cheap needless to say.

The Engines are quite rare aren't they? well if you are just going to buy the engine. Does anyone have one of these for sale? Do you know anyone that sells them?

What's the most someone has got out of a Furio? what mods did they use? How much did it cost them. Thanks John What would I have to do to reduce the displacement of a VTR? What would the BHP be if I reduced the Disiplacement be? Would it stay the same BHP or would it go down? If so by how much? Whats the most BHP someone has tuned a VTR to. Thanks, John

What's the most someone has tuned a 1.3 Rallye? What can you tune a 106 Rallye up to at a reasonable price? Anyone???

Your best off asking someone on the 106oc theres some mental cars on there.

okay, thanks guys. so you don't recon the vtr engine would be any good??? just out of interest though, is it actually possible to reduce the displacement of an engine like the vtr to 1.4??? would the power stay the same or would it go down?? thanks guys and girls
