   i have a t reg mk1 1.1 saxo with the engine gone just wondering do mk2 1.1 saxo engine fit with no fuss or will the ecu plugs be diffrent or anything like that need to know asap cheers every one

   when you buy new engine is it coming with the new engines ecu?

   Yours is a single plug Ecu and the MK2 is a three plug, The Engine will fit and run fine, but you use your single plug ecu and loom and swop over your Mk1 sensors and anything else that is different to the Mk2 engine eg injectors?

   There are two different 1.1 engines a black top (single point injection) and silver top (multi point injection)
   
   OP is yours a black top engine or silver top?
   
   A Mk1 blacktop to Mk2 silvertop is no good.
   A Mk1 silvertop to Mk2 silvertop should be okay if as discussed you use all your sensors from your loom.
   
   Im no expert in the 1.1 engines only the 16v

   Yep. Unless someone has painted it black which is unlikely.
   
   So to answer your question. No you cant use a Mk2 3 plug engine. You need a single plug black top 1.1 engine.
