ok I bought a furio that was lowered around 35-40mm well was told it was 35 but looked a lot lower, the axle went in it after a year of having the car, then I got another axle off a saxo at the scrappys (1ST MISTAKE) it wasnt lowered or anything though so had it fitted a few weeks back and my car is back to standard height and now im told the bearing in one side is fucked, can I do anything or do I need to replace the axle again? If so are reconditioned ones the way to go?

#2You can get the bearings from citroen for about £40 a side

#3I'd definitely say getting one from the scrappy you were playing with fire, but not to worry.. you could either get the bearing from citroen and maybe find a garage to fit it (not sure if many do) if not give IM axles a go, they can uprate them to your spec and lower them no problems.. never been to them myself but heard nothing but good things about themQuote:ok I bought a furio that was lowered around 35-40mm well was told it was 35 but looked a lot lower, the axle went in it after a year of having the car, then I got another axle off a saxo at the scrappys (1ST MISTAKE) it wasnt lowered or anything though so had it fitted a few weeks back and my car is back to standard height and now im told the bearing in one side is fucked, can I do anything or do I need to replace the axle again? #10thanks you too ha! Just got back from the garage the mechanic wont do the bearing if i go to a citroen garage will i have to pay massive fees for one bearing to be replaced? :/
-
#11Yeah like I said, its a pretty specialist job to be honest, not many mechanics will want to touch it.. ring around a few, you might have to travel a bit.Quote:thanks you too ha! I wouldn't bother with citroen main dealer, probably gonna a fair whack of what the car is worth to be honest!
Try and find a pug/citroen specialist and see if they want to change it for you! -

#13Sometimes Evan tho u replace bearing may not fix it as wear the bearing has been gone it cud have flared the bar which bearing goes in depending on how long and how uve been driven with it like that, it's probably jus as easy to get a new rear axle as it is alot of work to replace bearing and not many machanics are clued up on torsion bars
