Overheating..Urgent Help Needed

  1. #1
As the title says my car is overheating. Sitting idle or at high idle is fine..hot air no bother from vents..its been bled and changed coolant..fan always kicks in but when driving at high speeds (70/80 mph) on motorway the needle creeps up halfway between middle line and red line..it might keep going but i always slow down to 60 to let it cool itself..is my radiator nackered or am i missing something? engine oil and coolant are all clean so ruling out head gasket..
Any help would be much appreciated as i drive to work 6 days a week on the motorway..

Thanks in advance for any help in advance

Well, it should run cooler when you're at higher speeds and run hotter then you're at lower speeds, idling. Because when you're going fast cool air is being forced into the Rad.

If the fan comes on when you're at high speeds I'd say bleed the rad again. An air lock is possible

it was doing it at high speed so then i changed the coolant and bled it twice more and still no change..i dont know does the fan go on when im driving at high speeds coz i cant hear it over the car but im sure it prob does if the temp goes over ninety..thats why i reckon the rad matrix is wrecked but i dont want to buy a new rad and fit it to find its not that either and im afetr missing something simple.. thanks for the quick reply

That's fine. I have mine above the max and I've never had any problems.

People will say otherwise. But from my experience it's fine as long as it's not full...
