oil leek gearbox help urgent

    just took my gearbox out to fit another one and it is got oil all over it.so i guess its coming from the flywheel as the clutch was slipping.is there some sort of seal on to stop it coming out.can you buy one and fit it yourself.any help.thanks ste

    there's a big oil seal behind the flywheel as well as one on the input shaft of the gearbox.

    as for whether you can fit it, depends how capable you are, if you got the box off easily then you've got a fair chance :lol:

    just looked at the box and that is what was leeking as the case round the shaft as broke of and stuck to the release bearing.and there is no oil on the flywheel or behind it so it must of just been coming from the box as that is where all the oil is.and the clutch is just worn out but fitting box and clutch now.ste
