    i dropped my keys in a puddle and water got into the key fob can i replace just the chip in the fob ? where do i get one from ?

    i did this a while back try putting it in ur boiler cuboard to dry it out mine worked afterwards

    just open it up dry the battery and chip as much as you can and let if dry over night

    Take the cover off the fob & gently warm the innards with a hairdryer.

    wd40 we used to use this on rc car electrics after using them in the wet as it's a water repellent, we used to take the bits apart and coat the insides with the stuff, proper wd40 though not the cheap stuff from the corner shop

    Ii had the same problem but the fob is now knackered doesn't work at all anymore need to replace the whole remote

    I wouldn't even bother. Just open the fob, take it apart and leave it to dry overnight.

    thanks for the ideas tryed drying it out also replaced the battery and tryed to re sync the fob with car but no luck :/ anyone no a proce to price the whole key fob ?
