mk2 vtr shuddering

    My vtr has always occasionaly revved itself to 1500 rpm at the lights when idle, i just found this funny cos it reminded me of christine. But over the past couple of weeks its doing it alot more shuddering loads on tickover and feeling like its going to cut out until i rev it and it seems to make it okay for a minute or so. Sometimes it shudders at slow speeds and sometimes feels like the accelerator isnt responding properley.

    It feels like the engine is struggling for air ( Im no mechanic though) could it just be my old ripspeed air filter is knackered?

    Clean the idle control valve mate search for the guide.

    did that about 10 months ago would be suprised if that was clogged up

    It'll be the ICV. Clean it again.

    If that doesn't work get a new one.

    I've had this 3 times now lol.

    cheers, if its getting full of crap is it time for a new air filter?

    Well, you can tell by looking at the filter, is it dirty? Clogged? Are there a lot of crap in the Throttle Body?

    If the filter is dirty and clogged I'd change it.

    If it's a bit dusty I'd dust it off lol.

    did the icv today but no improvement, looks like an air leak from behind the airbox. mechanics got it now, cheers anyway
