Won't go into gear fully..

I can get into 2nd and 4th and reverse fine, but when trying to go into 1st, 3rd and 5th - othe gearstick appears to get get stuck when going into gear, and doesn't feel like it goes all the way in?

With it only being these gears, is it linkages going? It physically does go into gear, but it feels like it just in, like not in all the way on the gear selector?

Only thing, i thought the linkages did like 1,2. 3,4 5,reverse?

Sounds like mine tbh, you hardly have to move the stick to be in 5th and to get in first there is resistance then a little "click" and pow it's in. I got told it was the linkages so I guess that may be your problem too.
As with all saxos reverse only works 50% of the time lols.

exactly the same as mine im going to get mine changed.

I get this on mine into reverse and sometimes 1st.. Usually when I bring the clutch up slightly it pops on in..

You just have to be patient with reverse

Before reversing, put into neutral, release the clutch, then put it into reverse
Never had any trouble with my current car or my old saxo using that method

    sorry mate

like noted above, gear linkage is the likely cause of the stiff shifts

My clutch cable was my replaced a few months ago

Surely it would make all the gears hard to get into?

I'm thinking linkages, but just was seeing if anyone had it before i started getting dirty in the cold

make sure the gear linkage isn't hitting the exhaust were the down pipe meets the centre pipe. hope this helps
