my power steering seems to get stiff in the cold but then after a while it works again, is there a problem or just the way it is?,

#4pump could well be getting a bit tired and any slight problem thats un-noticeable in warmer weather is going to be enhanced by the cold as Dave said. If it packs up altogether,then worry. Could always give the pump a hot water bottle to cuddle up to lol

I got really worried, thought maybe it was the start of the end or something..
Does yours make a strange high pitched noise as well when you start driving (once the power steering has kicked back in?)
