Hi peeps i bought a S Reg 1998 106 GTI over a month ago now and when the engine is first started warm or cold it idles pretty rough...it will idle at like 1k then it will drop a little and gradually get worse then it will try and cut out which sometimes it does...if it doesnt cut out then all of a sudden it will rev itself to like 2k revs then it will be fine after that...if i try and drive while its still doing it then its like its running on 3 cylinders and has no power at all then it starts kangarooing then it just kicks in and gives you whiplash and then its fine lol.
My mate plugged it into his diagnostics machine and it came back with only one fault which was the oxygen/lambda sensor and i have read up that they can cause bad idling...so basically if i replace it will it solve my rough idling issue? Anyone have any ideas how much they are from peugeot? would rather buy a genuine one cos i have seen that cheaper motor factor ones last only a few months then need replacing again.
Thanks.
