Not worth the hassle at all. Could be done but wouldnt be cheap, and would be alot of fecking about.

C2 with a HDi lump in??? Or buy a 1.5d

    Possible, Yes
Easy to do, Unlikely I can think a dozen problems and there are probably many more.

I would not consider it as a cost cutting project but if you just want to do it and are happy to throw time and or money at the car its defiantly possible.

The main problem would be the electricals, presuming the 1.4hdi came from a 2002 or newer car it'll have a lot of wiring to go with it, then there's fitting a lift pump in a diesel tank.... too much work mate.

If you're thinking that it might save you some tax id certainly double check with the DVLA before hand and even get it in writing if they do agree to drop the taxation fees.

Certainly theyre very quick to charge extra tax for increses in engine sizes etc, but in terms of decreasing it you should check their policy first.

Also be aware that to officially convert your engine and declare it on the V5 that you now need an engineers report for having the work done professionally.

It used to be that you could happily do the work yourself if you wished and you'd only need a stamped note of approval from somewhere (usually MOT testing centre) to confirm that xxxcc engine with xxxxx engine number is now sitting in xxxxx vehicle with registration xxxxx and xxxxxx chassis number and that they confirm that it is indeed in road worthy condition.

Defo do all the relevent homework before even considering looking at doing the conversion. Im sure itll be possible to do however it may be a completely wasted expense.

i used to work in a garage that serviced n-power's call out cars, 1.4 206's, we had 4 head gaskets in the space of 2 weeks all at the 30-40k mark. so my opinion on these engines is, dont bother
