Strange Idle Problem

   My saxo's idle speed sometimes drops right off and the car starts to shake, but when i pull the throttle pedal up or pull the throttle cable under the bonnet the car will rev slightly then the revs will drop back to 1000 which is perfect.it will stay perfect for a while then drop again so i have to do it again. Any idea's on how to fix it or what it is would be great. Thanks

   Take throttle body off and clean it, clean idle control valve.

   i already did that m8, because it's fine when i lift the throttle pedal i'm guesing the throttle cable or pedal is getting stuck somewhere. any idea's ?

   Try some grease on the throttle cable?

   throttle is sticking slightly ope due to to much air being pulled in on idle...there is a butterfly control vavle just under the idle control valve, you have it take the idle control valve out to get to the butterfly vlave...try cleaning that/ replacing it as that regulates how much air to let in at any one time. hope this helps

   cheers m8. i tried to remove the idle control valve before but the torx bolts are stripped. any idea how to get them out. if i can get it out i will have a look at the butterfly valve.

   you may have to take the hole throttle housing off :/....not a hard job...just fiddley lol... other than that theres no room to work with any thing...so thats your only option i can think of

    i had a look m8 and the injectors sit right on top of the butterfly valve so it's quite hard to get at. if there any way to remove the injector or is there another way i can do it without removing it.

    this isn't mine but it's what it looks like. i'm not sure wether i need to remove the whole throttle body housing ?

    Has any one got any idea's. if it's fine when i lift the throttle pedal then somethings got to be sticking somewhere ?
